Contemporary Fine Art Collages
Modern Madonnas transforms original photographs through manual collage and overpainting into new, independent artworks –
without digital tools and without a repeatable process. Each piece is a singular variation built from a photographic
starting point and developed into a physical fine art collage.
Modern Madonnas in Context
The works in the Modern Madonnas series move between photography, collage and painting. Printed photographs are cut,
layered, overpainted and reshaped into new image structures. The original photo remains as a trace, but through manual
intervention it becomes part of a contemporary fine art collage rather than the final subject.
Each artwork is created by hand and follows its own development. There are no editions and no repeatable procedures.
Even when a subject is revisited, the result is a new, unique variation with its own visual language – an original
shaped through physical, manual processes rather than digital manipulation.
For collectors who prefer a more photographic approach, the
Collector’s Edition
offers large-scale fine art works in limited editions. Ready-to-hang framed pieces in fixed formats can be found in
SIGNED.FRAMED.ICONIC.
For collage-like compositions without nudity, the
Split Screen
series offers a closely related artistic approach focusing on landscapes, architecture and urban structures.
A broader view of recurring themes and photographic series is available in the
photobooks.
