Anyone who thinks that art is created with kid gloves has never photographed in a demolition villa. The standards out there are sweet, really. But when you’re knee-deep in rubble and you see that one light that fades everything else out, only the result counts. The girl in the picture knows exactly what she’s worth, no matter how much the walls rot around her. That’s the attitude I wanted to capture. Raw, direct and without the usual advertising bullshit. Take it or leave it. We tore the moment out of time just before the renovation ironed everything out.
