The stag’s antlers hang above her like a crown of bone. A perfect fit — she stands like a huntress who just delivered her prey. Only that she is the prey. And the hunter. And everything in between.

The massive wooden cabinet has seen a lot in its lifetime, but probably never someone standing so naturally naked in front of it. Hands resting lightly on the edge, up on her toes, as if she might lift off. Or strike.

The parlor screams tradition, Sunday roast and family photos. Instead it gets naked skin and the courage to break rules. The antlers watch — silent but not blind. They know what’s happening.

Wood grain meets skin grain. Both have their stories, both carry their scars. The difference: the wood is dead, she is alive. Intense, uncompromising, here and now.

The pewter plates on the wall reflect nothing. She reflects everything — the light, the room, the question of what tradition means when someone simply decides to ignore it.

The antlers will stay. She will leave. But the room will never forget that someone was here who wasn’t afraid.
