City without solid ground – Modern collage art
A city that dissolves. Buildings float in the void, as if someone had simply cut out parts of reality and forgotten to put them back in. Modern collage art that deconstructs urban space – what remains when the structures break away? Ink, acrylic and photography merge into a world that simultaneously exists and dissolves. The yellow tears gaps, eats into the architecture as if it were about to devour the city. But perhaps this is not decay, but a new order, a transition into something else. The skyline has not disappeared – it is just no longer what it once was.
Split Screen – Modern collage art between reality and illusion
The Split Screen series is not classic landscape photography. It is not about picturesque postcard motifs or pleasing natural idylls. Instead, the result is modern collage art that shifts perspectives and irritates the eye. Layer by layer, textures, colors and shapes combine to create images that hover between reality and illusion – sometimes rough, sometimes soft, always surprising.
Every work is an experiment. Urban structures merge with wild nature, horizons are fragmented and reassembled. The techniques are as varied as the motifs: collage, overpainting, digital breaks – what counts is the effect. It is a playful yet challenging examination of what we see and what we want to see. Modern collage art here means breaking up and redefining familiar views.
Technology & materials
Each work in the Split Screen series is a unique original – analog, genuine, tangible. There is no retouching here, it is composed, layered and reworked. Different materials are applied, processed and rearranged until structures are created that bring depth and movement to the image. It is modern collage art that not only depicts, but also challenges the eye.
The result: visual compositions with character – lively, authentic, unique.

The creative process
There is no fixed scheme in the Split Screen series. Each work is created in a dialog between material, motif and intuition. The compositions are not determined in advance – they develop during the creative process, layer by layer.
Traces of manual work, slight irregularities, deliberately placed breaks – the process remains tangible here. Modern collage art that does not hide its origins, but makes it clear that real handiwork is involved. The imperfection becomes a stylistic device and gives the pictures their special, authentic effect.
Each work is the result of a creative collaboration: the photographic basis comes from Martin Wieland, while collages, overpaintings and material combinations are developed and implemented by his art director Dietmar Halbauer. This joint work results in modern collage art that breaks up familiar views and tells a new story.

This picture is already perfectly framed
The frame? It fits like a glove. Black and silver, with scratches that look like someone tried to scrape away the damn surface – and gave up because the thing has too much character. No high gloss, no fancy crap. Just a frame that doesn’t slow the picture down, but goes at the wall with it. Bad boy style. Tough, honest, uncompromising.
Collector’s value & unique character
The Split Screen series appeals to art collectors who are looking for something special. Each work is a unique original – made by hand, signed and only available once in this version. The deliberate choice of materials, the visible traces of the creative process and the combination of different techniques make each picture an unmistakable piece of modern collage art.
The certificate of authenticity supplied documents the authenticity and secures the value of the artwork in the long term.
