My nude art newsletter shows more than social media
Why do I prefer to write emails rather than posts? Because I prefer to send you my pictures directly – not via detours, not in the noise of social media. My nude art newsletter is the easiest way to see my work before it disappears.
I’ve been taking photos since films still had to go to the lab. I’ve been writing emails since the internet still sounded like a dial-up modem. I’m not an influencer and certainly not a motivational coach. I am a photographer. And if I want to reach someone, it’s not between two cat videos, but directly – without an algorithm, without advertising, without counting likes.
You don’t get mail from me every day. I wouldn’t know what to write – see the first paragraph – I’m not a writer. I write when there’s something to show. Sometimes it’s a new work that doesn’t appear in the store until later. Sometimes it’s a picture that never ends up there at all. And sometimes it’s just a thought that came up somewhere between a train journey and a rainy shoot.
I still use social media – but differently
Sure, I’m also on Instagram, X and Bluesky. But that’s like a note on a notice board – you walk past, take a quick look, scroll on. The nude art newsletter is something else. No distractions. No endless feeds. Just the pictures. And you. It has a different intensity. And to be honest: I like it better.
I grew up with pictures that needed time to take effect. Photographers like Herb Ritts would hardly have had a chance in a TikTok feed. His pictures worked because you looked at them – not because you “liked” them.
Old-fashioned? Maybe. At a time when everything is getting louder and louder, it’s good to have something that’s quieter – and lasts longer. When you’re in here, you get to see things before they disappear. Sometimes you’re the only one who sees them at all.
